Historic Fayetteville Walking Tour Friday 3-6 PM

You'll dig this tour of town. As the county seat of Fayette County, Fayetteville has played a pivotal role in the area’s history. It gained that title in 1873, when the town changed its name from Vandalia. Perched above one of the world’s oldest rivers, it stands to reason that Fayetteville has a lot of history of its own.

Guided Endless Wall Hike Friday 3-6 PM

The Endless Wall hiking trail is one of the region's most popular trails. Its breathtaking views of the endless unbroken cliff line overlooking the New River Gorge makes this a must see.
This trail is not far from the Canyon Rim Visitor Center, off of Edmond Road. Park at the Nuttall Trailhead parking area. This mostly easy trail loop is around 3 miles (with 0.5 mile on the road from Fern Creek Trailhead to Nuttall Trailhead).

Low key, fun, addicting! Yep, all three apply to our birding and nature walks here at The New River Birding and Nature Center. Located at Wolf Creek Park.We will be banding birds as well as watching them and looking at the plants and habitat that surrounds us. We offer a very relaxed experience that caters to everyone from the "First Timer" to those that claim the infamous "Bird Nerd" status.

Trip Length: 8 miles (Half day); Minimum Age: 9 years (minimum height of 52") for Oar Raft only, with river levels up to 2'. Guests in regular 16' rafts must be a minimum age of 12 and minimum height of 56". No meal provided.

Saturday Rafting - Lower Gauley @10 AM

The Lower Gauley is a long run—17 miles—and though there are a few pools for relaxing and swimming, most of that length is spent in whitewater, with much of it class III-V. Though it doesn't pack quite the punch as the Upper Gauley in terms of technique and steely nerves needed, this river section should not be underestimated. It is the most advanced river section that we feel is appropriate for first-time rafters.
The minimum age for this trip is 14. We recommend that participants have experience with rafting before trying this trip. Should be able to swim.
