By Gauley, They've Done IT Again. Absolutely Gorge-ous.
For past conferences, Create WV volunteers have temporarily taken over towns, originated pop-up boutiques in empty storefronts, featured local food artists and designer food, futurists, classroom disrupting educators, and makers of all stripes. This time the question is: Will you walk, ride, rappel, paddle or zip while blazing your trail to the new economy?
What does this place need? No, seriously, I'm asking. We are asking. Who are "we?" It's me, and a bunch of others who work on behalf of the collective "you, we, and us." Confused? Roll with me...just answer: What do you think this place needs? I know you have an opinion. ;) And that's a good thing. No matter where I go in West Viriginia, every single day, I hear people talking about what this place needs. In my own discussions with people, conversation typically leads to people sharing their opinions about what West Virginia needs. Often they talk about what someone else needs to do, like what industry, small businesses, would-be entrepreneurs, community centers, academia, local governments, churches and Washington needs to do for this state. And sure, often there's a fair amount of fingerpointing and blame shifting about some things. There's some pie-in-the-sky talk about some things, and shock and awe about things that are happening that SOUND like pie-in-the-sky ideas. When folks discover that there's a growing group of people who are pulling out all the stops to address chronic issues and big ideas...well, it gets pretty exciting. It's that excitement that pushes this all-volunteer organization forward. It's all about giving you a voice, helping great ideas make it to market. It's time for you to get involved, to Create, West Virginia. So, come on... tell the truth. When was the last time you signed up for a conference (let alone a vacation!) that offered some of the world's best options to get your mind, body and spirit pumping--in your home state? Thought so. But this isn't just any conference...multi-generational organizers make sure that every minute is worth your time and effort, even long after new economy training sessions. Create WV conferences are all about mixing business and pleasure, and this time, well...even WE are stunned by the options. Many are arriving early, staying later, and bringing families. We think you should, too. Talk to us about a spouse discount. We'll make one up just for you!
It's not all about death-defying adrenaline junkie day trips, nah...our New River Gorge regional hosts are rolling out their version of autumn's spectacular red carpet for guests of all ages, physical fitness levels, and all interests. Take a look at the incredible line-up of activities offered to conferees during and after the conference. Then get yourself registered, and start packing for one of the most refreshing training and team-building experiences you'll ever be part of, at least in this state. No more excuses.
We'll be announcing the four finalists of the Entrepreneurs Cafe soon, and we'll also let you know who the five Ignite West Virginia speakers will take the stage on Friday night. But for Pete's sake, let's get you registered first. REGISTER NOW.
